Education Abroad Short Term Program Assistant--Now Hiring
The Office of Education Abroad at UMD is hiring for a Short Term Program Assistant.
The Program Assistant works closely with the Education Abroad advising staff to support students through the study abroad application process. He/she is a first point of contact for students who are in the early stages of planning for study abroad, delivering general advising services to help students understand program options and the study abroad process and referring students to appropriate resources and Education Abroad (EA) advising staff as necessary. The Program Assistant monitors student applications using MyEA (Terra Dotta Software), follows up with applicants missing materials and helps to implement retention initiatives.
The Program Assistant provides program management support to ensure the efficient administration of Maryland-semester, exchange, affiliate and approved programs. This includes ensuring information in the program database is up to date including date records, program parameters, and creating new program entries as requested. He/she works in consultation with advising and operations staff to provide information for scheduling and registration of study abroad courses, processes requests with a student travel agency for suggested flight itineraries and assists with preparing visa information and packets and emergency preparedness rosters. The Program Assistant works with the Associate Director for Operations and Assistant Director for Advising and Outreach to help track resident and transfer credit reviews of study abroad courses and maintain the study abroad course database.
Education Abroad continues to expand outreach efforts and increase presence on campus. The Program Assistant routinely participates in EA events including Study Abroad Fairs, presentations and classroom visits.
This is an entry level position.

BSOS is searching for full-time Coordinator for
Undergraduate Communications & Recruitment. This individual will
manage all mass communications to BSOS undergraduate students from the
Associate Dean’s Office, including the weekly listserv, undergraduate blog, and
undergraduate website content. This position also leads all College communications
to prospective freshman and transfer students and coordinates campus
recruitment and outreach initiatives, strategies, and events.
The incumbent will also interact with several campus
offices responsible for Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions as well as the
College’s External Relations, Communications, Marketing, and Media Relations
specialists.
Strong candidates will have exceptional organizational
and interpersonal communication skills, experience with undergraduate
admissions and recruitment, and familiarity with social media and web site
communication strategies.
Required: Bachelor’s
degree. Two years of experience with undergraduate admissions and
recruitment. Experience with social media and web site communication
strategies.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree is
preferred. Experience with specific content management systems, such
as Drupal or WordPress, is preferred.
