Job Title: Research Analyst

- Undergraduate or master’s degree from a top-rated university with an outstanding academic record in political science, international studies, history, social sciences, religious studies, Middle East studies, or a related discipline with a focus on the Middle East and/or the Arabian Peninsula required;
- Strong record of coursework and/or internship work in the politics, economics, history, society, and culture of the modern Middle East and/or Arabian Peninsula required;
- Arabic and/or Persian-language fluency strongly preferred;
- Strong record of coursework, internship, and/or work experience in counterterrorism (CT), countering violent extremism (CVE), and/or Middle East terror groups and networks strongly preferred;
- Experience conducting qualitative research and/or writing a topical honors or master’s thesis involving original research strongly preferred;
- Candidates must be highly intelligent and forward-thinking with superior writing and note-taking skills;
- Candidates must be able to multitask, adapt to a constantly changing workflow, and complete assignments on tight deadlines;
- Candidates must be able to respond positively to constructive criticism and work productively under close editorial supervision.
Position Description
The Arabia Foundation, an independent Washington DC-based think tank that focuses on the geopolitics and socioeconomics of the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula is seeking a full-time research analyst to start as soon as possible.
Research analysts are responsible for providing research and administrative support to Arabia Foundation senior analysts and scholars. Research analysts will also contribute to organization-wide projects assigned by the head of research and director and regularly attend area events and conferences on the Middle East.
This is an entry level position for candidates with 0-2 years of job experience.
