Join the next generation of global professionals. The Arabic and Persian programs at the University of Maryland are among the best in the country. We offer both short- and long-term study options for students interested in reaching the highest levels of proficiency in these critical languages and developing their cultural fluency in an innovative, exciting learning environment.  The Flagship Programs offer long-term immersion programs both at UMD and abroad to give students a professional level of proficiency. Our intensive Summer Institute covers an entire academic year in just 10 weeks through engaging classes, cultural activities, and individual conversation partners. Open to all students at any language level!
